The GT-2000 6 continues ASICS trend of providing a solid lightweight stability shoe to those runners looking for a smooth and supportive ride. There are a few changes from the previous models that reduce weight and improve the overall feel on foot.
Midsole and Cushion - ASICS is moving most of their shoes to use their new and lighter material called FlyteFoam. The old cushion system was nice and cushioned, but FlyteFoam can maintain that cushion while reducing weight on your foam. The new material is also more durable, which is an added plus.
Support - The shoe maintains use of a dual density foam under the arch to provide structure and prevent excessive pronation. Under your arch you'll also find a bar of plastic that prevents excessive torque and motion side-to-side.
Upper - One of the biggest changes is going to be the newly reformatted upper. This sheds even more weight on the shoe while improving fit and cutting down on possible hot spots.
The new GT-2000 6 is 0.6oz lighter for men and 1oz lighter for women. The heel-to-toe drop is 10mm. As stated before, this update has been a fantastic one for those runners who are used to the lightweight stability category. The price point remains at $120.
