Just in time for all the spring, summer, and fall racing that awaits, the new official racing kits of the CRC Elite have arrived in all four stores and online.
At the Columbus Running Company, it's our mission to support all runners, from true beginners to the speedsters at the front of the pack. The CRC Elite are extremely dedicated athletes that are running hundreds of miles a month, year after year, with the goal of bettering themselves and their times. It's only fitting that we create a kit for them that matches their performances and stands out among a crowd.
Snagging one of these singlets at the shops will show your support for the CRC Elite, and we think you'll feel great running in them!
What's more important to you in your racing top? The fabric or the design? We'll start with the fabric on the Women's Elite Racerback ($42) and Men's Elite Singlet ($42). We debuted the incredibly lightweight 'Breezee' fabric to the US market in our 2018 Elite tops, and the fabric is back again in the 2019 edition. Featuring a touch of stretch, the fabric allows for a slightly looser fit in the men's singlet. The women's singlet features a racerback cut over the shoulders.
Unisex Arm Warmers ($28). Our arm warmers are designed with a slightly more substantial fabric called Movement. Movement offers a stronger stretch, which allows the fabric to contour more to the body. Thumb holes provide optional extra coverage, and a thin silicon lining on the top helps to keep the sleeve in place. The design was made specifically to match the tops for a sharp, unified look.
Women's Crop Top ($38). Also using Movement fabric as in the arm warmers, the stretch will keep its form in place. There is not a built-in bra, simply because we know on race day that's a choice best left to the individual. We specifically cut away fabric in the back for a racerback, open-style look.
Now onto the design! Did you know that the CRC is sending a record number of athletes to the 2020 US Olympic Trials in Atlanta this winter? In 2018, FIVE athletes hit the standard (sub 2:45 for women and sub 2:19 for men) while in our CRC Elite kit. Three of those were women - and a couple more are on the cusp of qualifying and have had great races. Thus, we thought it was fitting that we toss in a little pink this year as a nod to the ladies and their success. It gives it the bold look that it deserves and announces 'clear the way' for anyone wearing the top!
We gave the pink a slight fade into black because these tops are so fast, not even the color can hold on. (More practically, it also allowed us to accent the traditional CRC logo in white on the front.)
And speaking of tradition: 2019 is officially the 15th year that the CRC has ruled the roads in Ohio. We represent that with a commemorative Ohio patch on the back of each top with the number '15' written in.
You won't find a better feeling or looking top on the roads this summer. Check 'em out, and don't be afraid to support and represent CRC in style!
