Love2Reach is the Columbus Running Company’s charity training program. Founded in 2013 by a group of runners and walkers who wanted to do something more for their community, L2R is now in its fifth season of giving back to the Columbus area through fundraising and racing. Two of L2R’s new assistant coaches are Tracey King and Kristi Aiken. The ASICS Grasshoppers Spring Track/Road Racing Club is for 5th and 6th graders who have a competitive spirit and want to see improvement in their performances through consistent training. What is most important is that attitude – young athletes of all abilities will find themselves able to train and race with the support of the entire club (almost 50 kids last fall!), including myself and the rest of the coaching staff. If you or someone you know would like to take up running but they’re not sure where to start, the Walk & Run 101 training program is a great place to begin. Participants receive weekly coaching emails, and this year they’ll have the added benefit of working with a coach at Saturday group runs. Lisa Dillahunt, who leads the program, will be at our Westerville store to help the group meet their 5K goals.
