BECOME A LEADER WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY
Community is the cornerstone of everything we do at CRC - and we're looking for community leaders to join us as Run & Walk Captains this upcoming season!
We're looking for individuals who can attend group runs & walks for the season, welcome newcomers, cheer everyone along the course, and make everyone feel welcome within the community.
Basically, captains are there to assist CRC staff to make our free group runs and walks run smoothly while keeping things fun. Interested in getting involved? Check out our expectations and perks below, and then complete our CRC Ambassador application at the bottom of the page.
CAPTAIN PERKS + EXPECTATIONS
- ASSIST AT WEEKLY GROUP RUNS AND WALKS: Run and walk captains are there to take part in CRC's weekly runs and walks. You're there to encourage everyone and to break down the levels of intimidation that often form around social runs and walks.
- THE IDEAL CAPTAIN: Our best captains are outgoing. Ready to talk with those nervous newcomers. Quick to introduce first-timers to others, helping to open up what can appear as impenetrable cliques. The ideal captain wants to help build a vibrant, fun community alongside all of us on the paths.
- LOCATION: CRC hosts several captains for each of our non-speed-work social runs and walks. That schedule includes our Saturday morning runs and our weekday pub runs. When you join us as a captain, you join for a specific location.
- ATTENDANCE: In order to take part in the CRC Captains program for our winter/spring season, participants must commit to attending at least 15 of the 21 weekly runs & walks from January through May. Your assistance on the path is key to a great experience for everyone.
- PERKS: Captains receive in-store discounts, gear, and race entries along with leadership opportunities within our running and walking community.
